On Line SkyHydrant Training

As Disaster Aid Australia continues to adapt to the COVID pandemic we now provide  SkyHydrant training to our partners through ZOOM.

We have just completed the third unit of a trial of weekly sessions with Balay Mindanaw, a partner who have been involved in over 70 installations in the Philippines.

During the sessions the training includes elements that are suitable for; those new to SkyHydrants; and those with extensive experience.

The training  covers all aspects of the installation and operation of SkyHydrants including:

  • SkyHydrant connections.
  • Suitable buildings.
  • Head tank issues.
  • Improving raw water quality.
  • Psychology of Safe Drinking Water
  • Using pumps.

The training is delivered via PowerPoint presentations with question and answer sessions.

Short instructional videos are also shown during the sessions, and are available for later access during installations.

Virtual Visit to Disaster Aid Australia

Have you wondered how an international aid charity runs?

How we deliver Safe Water to tens of thousands of children every year?

What is the organisation needed to respond to disasters with ‘SmartAid’

Why not take a guided tour around the Disaster Aid Offices by ‘ZOOM’ guided by our CEO, Brian Ashworth.

The tour will give you an insight into what we do, and how we do it.

At the end of the visit you will have the chance to ask questions about the tour, or anything else about DAA

To book your tour via ‘ZOOM’ contact us at media@disasteraidaustralia.org.au

Ideal for a ‘Rotary Vocational Visit’ during the current COVID19 pandemic.

Why We Install SkyHydrants

We have recently received these results from a SkyHydrant Project for eight schools in India

What this means is; across the eight schools:

  • Before the SkyHydrants were installed on average 643 students were ill every week
  • Afterwards the number of ill students dropped to 74  per week.
  • An overall 88% reduction in illness from all causes.

It would seem that the majority of child illness has been caused by contaminated water and with the removal of bacteria that form of illness has practically disappeared.

If you want to find out how Disaster Aid Australia can help your aid project achieve these results contact us at media@disasteraidaustralia.org.au

Thanks to Diganta Swaraj Foundation for providing these results.

The Meeting Alternative

With the COVID-19 Pandemic many Rotary Clubs are looking at how they meet.

If your club is considering video conferencing using ZOOM, Google Hangouts, or one of the other meeting applications we can provide a speaker.

Disaster Aid Australia has already provided speakers to E-clubs and you can hear all about :

  • How we will continue to protect thousands of children during the current travel restrictions.
  • Our latest innovations to provide aid when the travel restrictions are removed.
  • Progress on our Bhutan 2020 project to provide safe water for every school in the whole country.

If you would like a presentation for your video meeting please contact admin@disasteraidaustralia.org.au
